Infrared Thermography Is a proven diagnostic technique recommended by the US Department of Energy for identifying areas of heat or cooling loss. A thermal scan of your home or business can identify where those wasted dollars are going, no matter what type of building or what type heating or cooling system you have.
Whether its residential or commercial our infrared inspection of the building will be focused on the heat or cooling loss by finding damaged, misplaced, or missing insulation in the exterior walls, ceilings, and floors. We are also able to apply this same technology to locate HVAC duct leakage,. Our Enhanced Infrared Survey is a more detailed analysis of your home with the inclusion of Diagnostic testing equipment, such as a Blower Door, and Duct Blaster. Blower Door Test: A Blower Door is used to find air leakage in your home, by quantitatively measuring air changes per hour. The fan pulls air out of the house, lowering the air pressure inside. The higher outside air pressure then flows in through all unsealed cracks and openings so we can locate the air infiltration areas.
When unconditioned air from outside slips into your home, or conditioned air seeps out, you have to pay to heat or cool that extra air replacement. By air sealing and insulating, you could potentially save up to 30% of your energy bill and create a healthier indoor environment.
Our energy audit also includes duct pressure testing, to check for air leaks in the duct system.
Duct Pressure Test: Is the process of using a Duct Blaster to pressurize the duct system and measure the amount of airflow that is lost through the duct system.This allows you to locate the leaks and make the necessary repairs. The ducts that are part of the heating and cooling system offer one of the best opportunities to increase your energy efficiency, increase your comfort, and lower your energy bills. With an infrared scan, blower door test, and Duct Test we can give you the correct information to institute a plan of action so as to make the correct improvements, increase comfort, and lower your utility bills.
Our written Home Energy Audit is an in-depth analysis of your home's energy efficiency. At Dynamic we are certified by RESNET and HETI, Home Energy Team to perform the In-Home Survey Report with Diagnostics. We are on the approved list of energy auditors with the State of Virginia Department of Energy.
During the audit procedure, a certified BPI Analyst will complete an on-site visual evaluation of the home's energy features. This will assess your home's energy performance. All data collected is in accordance with the RESNET standards of practice.
By conducting an energy audit, the auditor is able to identify ways to reduce energy cost. Minimizing energy loss could result in dramatic savings to your energy bills. Once the audit is completed, you will receive a detailed report of the results. The report will highlight any problems and include the auditor's recommendations on actions that need to be taken to improve energy efficiency.
